On November 25, 26 and 27, 2011 come and celebrate Windsor’s Homegrown Talent at the Vollmer Culture and Recreation Complex in Lasalle.  This is an wonderful event showcasing Windsor’s artistic talent!  There will be music, demonstrations and books and art for sale.  Danah will be showing and selling her art and jewlery.

The cold has arrived and with it the snow and the excitement of the upcoming holiday season. We hope you are enjoying your time preparing for the holiday season with family and friends. Wednesday November 17, 2010 6:30 -9:30pm- SandPLAY – Discover the mysteries in Sand!

This is a very unique art class combining sand-art or sand pictures with story and painting.  Come and experience this introductory class to the SandPLAY process.  This class will surely awaken your creativity.  This is a very compelling process – it is also fun and playful. Maryvale Child and Youth Services

There are many ways to assist children create and understand themselves, one of those avenues is through the art-making process. Expressive Arts Therapies offer an opportunity for children to explore their feelings both verbally and non-verbally. Children translate their feelings, ideas, thoughts, and experiences into art. It is a process, with specific goals that foster growth, discovery, self-affirmation, emotional regulation, healing, and behavior changes. This program is offered at Maryvale Campus: Monday – Thursdays – This program is offered to children participating in Maryvale’s Residential and Day Treatment Mental Health Programs and Maryvale’s Program for Children with Autism.

Kids Classes for Homeschool Program

In this three week session we will engage the children in a playful creative process using various art materials like chalk pastels, paints and sculpting clay. We open our sessions with story-telling, drama, movement, music, and/or sand-play activities, then children begin to explore the art-making process while, at the same time, practicing problem-solving skills, building social skills and building confidence and discovering their individual artistic, unique and talented selves! No previous experience is required to participate. The program is geared to children ages 7 – 15.

When we experience the refreshing and energizing power of creating art and being “in-the-moment” we begin to create in our own authentic way. This 2-week art program will take you on an inner journey to inspire and bring to life your own unique masterpiece: your inner landscape of symbol, colour, and image. Each week we will experience spontaneous creative, self-expressive activities.

This course will focus on expressive drawing and painting and include some 3-dimensional (sculpture) activities as well.

Experience Expressive Art

Immerse yourself in the magic of expressive art!  Sculpture, Painting, Poetry, Music, Movement and Play.  Each night we will embark into the world of pure delight in creation as Danah takes you on a creative venture – from clay to poetry to paint! Dare to make some serious art from some serious play!

Thursday nights 6:30-9:30pm  November 5- November 26
